Arts website is a magic
carpet Believe it or not, most of the schedules for fascinating performances, dynamic dance and must-see art exhibits are already available. Your own community arts organization may give you more opportunities than you have time for. Or, if you prefer getting a statewide overview of the arts experiences waiting for your participation, surf the World Wide Web, starting at www.sdarts.org. We think our website is a perfect portal to the arts of our state. You’ll find a link to the arts festivals of summer and the Native American pow-wows already planned for 2005. You’ll discover, if you are an artist, opportunities for grants and programs to expand your audience. If you are happy to be a member of an audience, you can fill your calendar with the arts events offered on our website. In addition to the programs sponsored by South Dakotans for the Arts and the South Dakota Arts Council, you will discover links to arts providers from border to border. You can learn about the performing arts schedule at the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science in Sioux Falls and find information on the current exhibitions at the Dahl Art Center in Rapid City, to name but two of the prominent venues of our state. Best of all, you can choose from an incredible array of options, from opera to bluegrass, from national touring companies to your own community theater group. The sdarts.org website is a magic carpet, transporting you, via your home computer, to towns all over South Dakota where the arts are being produced this year.
